Apr 20, 2018 12:12PM PDT

Hello guys .. I am a new guy in networking . actually my friend asked me to build wifi that covers his hotel with internet ,kind of service for customers.
The idea is to put an AP in each floor ,and all these aps are wired .all cables go down to a switch 8 ports . and this switch is connected to adsl router for internet feeding .

But I need your help to configure all APs
Which operation mode I have to use,as repeater or ap ?
What ip for each ap must be ?
Channels and ssids should be the same or different ?

Plz I need help for the correct configuration for all devices.
Sorry for my fantastic English .

That's the beginning of such a system.

Since you will also have to get into access control you really should check into systems for Hotel WiFi. In fact just one AP per floor rarely works out. You usually put as many APs as it takes to get good coverage which can't be answered without trying out a deployment.

Nod to companies that supply hotel wifi like Cisco, Miraki and the others you find with https://www.google.com/search?q=hotel+wifi+systems

I don’t want to be rude but installing a hotel WiFi system requires more then just buying equipment and plugging it in. Careful planning is required to make it all work. You need some WiFi scanners to find out what other WiFi networks are nearby and which channels are best to set your access points to. You need to understand how much bandwidth you need. DSL will not work for a 5 story hotel the guests will all be complaining that the internet is slow. You will probably need more than one internet connection to support this many guests

You will definitely need more than one access point per floor.. probably one on each end of the hallway and another one in the middle of each floor.

Most people are using eero now but it’s more of a home system then a professional one. Please do your friend a favor and have him call in a professional networking company that specializes in network installations.
