Basically, a router with a USB port to connect a hard disk to would be fine. Please realise that ships are made from metal, so accessing the router via WiFi only is possible in the room it's located.
So I work on a ship and when we go out to sea it is frustrating trying to trade movies and such from person to person, since we have no internet access. I want to set up a small network for my berthing (living space) where we (about 20 people) can essentially download or stream movies from a central hard drive. Is there anyway to do this? Also it would need to be very small. I was thinking of using just a router and a hard drive but I'm not sure if that would work.
