A common glitch is that one person creates a multi-session recording or leaves the CD in a state where you can add more files. Not all machines will read such a disk.
While not about DVD http://www.cdrfaq.org/ covers this issue for CDs and it's the same issue.
Any use of DirectCD or such will also create headaches.

I made up a CD for a friend...I added various programs...movies...pictures...PP presentations...oodles of things were added to fill up the disk(holds 4.7Gs)...a DVD-R
On MY computer all the things showed as on the disk but when she tried to open the disk on HER computer it said the disk was empty
I am using Win XP and I'm not certain what she has but I know it isn't XP(I THINK it's Win 2000)
The only thing I can think of is that a regular cd-rom can't read these cds and I bet that's what she has
Is there any way around this? The movies I sent were not DVDs they were avi and shouldn't she be able to see the pictures at least?
