Making A Program Default via Registry Keys

May 22, 2010 10:57PM PDT

Hi all,
This is my first time posting on CNET Forums so i may not know everything, but anyway I am making a program and i have made it to open/read .acapp files is there a way via registry to make my program default. I use InstallShield 2010 for the installer which allows registry key editing, if anyone knows another way in installshild please inform me.

Default programs

since you use windows vista, its relatively easy. simply go to control panel,double-click default programs icon, then you can
1. set the default program windows uses to open files with certain extensions
2. choose the programs that are capable of opening file types.
try it.

I know that you can do that but for a program you can tell everyone to do that can you?

I need a way via registry keys.

That is compatible with XP too and win7.
