Making a list -- checking it twice...

by Mickey / March 4, 2004 11:10 PM PST

Hi, I know that "in the old days" of PC use one could do what was called a SCREEN PRINT and suddenly print whatever was on the screen; most usually, it was used to print out a list of documents/files on a particular floppy disc, or a listing of everything on a hard disc to keep for your records of what you had.

With all the new hardware and Wonder (Wo)man computing now, I can't for the life of me find out how to do this time-honored task. I want to print out a list of all that I have stored on a CD for instance... where do I begin??? I have MS XP Professional.

Thanks in advance for this opportunity to pick the minds out there. It's a great service and I look forward to reading all the previous topics -- one could learn A LOT here.

THANKS!

I have PrintNow and PrintFolder.

PrintNow, when running (you can turn it on or off), prints what's on the screen when you press the PrtScrn button.

PrintFolder, when running, creates a text file of a folder and its sub-folders and files. Save as a .txt file or print.

Visit my site http://www.wayne.hardy.com/ and email me. I'll send the files to you.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
