General discussion

making a dvd to play on tv dvd players

Jan 9, 2005 12:00PM PST

i'm still bumbling around trying to get videos (DVD) to my grand father. Am i forgetting to do something? My grandfather bought another dvd player that would play the dvd+'s that i'm able to burn and it told him that the disc was recognized but that there was an error on the disk and to eject it!! What's this about?? Is there a particular program that excels in the making it easy for other players to read area? Yes, i know i can just keep experimenting, but, my dvd player just died. Making trials all the more difficult.

There are many fine packages out there from DVDSANTA, Ulead, Adobe Premiere to just mention a few.

Haven't used my Mac G4's Super Drive to make too many DVDs in the past three years, but the one I made the other day didn't play on the TV's DVD player but did play on the Mac and a Windows XP laptop. Go figuh. I ain't smart enough. So, I should be using DVD creation software with my Mac G4's iDVD program? I think I don't know.
