Since about 1995, "programs" don't move. You can uninstall such and install in the new location.
I really don't know what I should name this as I need help with several different things. I'll try this and see what happens. I have a Dell Dimension V400 PC. Purchased in 1999. Upgraded to Win XP approximately 6 months ago. Orig hard drive was 9 GB and ran out of space. Installed 80 GB Maxtor hard drive and partitioned it to make 2 40 GB hard drives. Also have HP CD-Writer, HP printer & HP Scanner.
My 3 hard drives are C D & E. I have installed some programs on D & E and they work fine. C is full and really slows things down. I need to move programs, files, folders etc from C to D. I have tried to do that using the "move to" function and it appears they "move" as they are listed on the D drive but it doesn't reduce the "filled" space on C drive. Some of my programs need a lot of memory, have upgraded to 512 MB, and I get the msg that function cannot be completed because there is not enough memory.
I consider myself an "intermediate" PC user but I have a lot to learn and this problem has me completely buffaloed.
I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me.
