Airline 'asks mother to prove' relation to mixed-race son

The racial aspect is almost not worth mentioning anymore. [The kid wasn't shot or tasered.]

Assuming there was a clear and present danger to Southwest if the kid boarded improperly, is this the new way to verify identity?

"Lindsay Gottlieb, who is white, and her fiance Patrick Martin, who is African American, were both present and showed the official their son's _passport_. [So far, so good.]
"She says after showing his passport she was asked for further evidence through a _Facebook post_ or birth certificate."

'Mr Zuckerberg, can you verify these folks' identity for us? The President's Twitter account is down temporarily.'
