mails moved suddenly from imap to disabled pop3

by louis144 / November 2, 2014 9:09 PM PST

Suddenly all my imap inbox emails moved to my disabled pop3 inbox account without my interaction?
How can I prevent this happens again in the future?
I'm using windows live mail 2012.

disable pop3

Maybe my pop3 disabling has not worked perfectly and windows live mail has downloaded all the mails via pop3.
(I'm using a dutch version of windows live mail so what I write next between quotes will not be perfectly correct)
To disable pop3 in properties account, tab general , I have deselected "account using sending and synchronisation"
In options->mail I have deselected "messages sending and receiving"
What must I do to disable correct?
