Resolved Question

Mail refuses to leave Outbox

Apr 2, 2015 7:39PM PDT

I have 2 email addresses, 1 at ****@orange.fr and 1 at ****@gmail.com .
I can RECEIVE on both addresses, but can only SEND on my ****@orange.fr address. from the gmail When I try to send from the gmail address, it gets stuck in the Outbox. The highlighting disappears, but it remains stuck.
Can anyone tell me what's going on / how to correct? Is it something to do with POPs or SMTPs or PORTS etc etc?
Bob

Just to be sure, where do I see the protocol, and where can I modify it?
I repeat, I can send from orange, but not from Gmail.

That should be somewhere in the account properties you filled in when configuring the gmail-account in WLM.

Thanks, Kees,
I tried and problem remains. I think I will take your advice and go to Thunderbird. Do I first have to completely remove Live Mail before downloading Thunderbird? Will this destroy my contacts?

Does this mean I no longer will have a ***.gmail.com email address - if I leave Gmail?

All is solved!!!

Hi Kees,
About 3 weeks ago, my provider exchanged my old Livebox (Orange) for a new one - Live Play.
I have been fiddling around now for a day, and I decided to go to "Add a new account" and filled up the info required. That solved the issue. Obviously, the new Livebox had to be re-introduced to my Gmail address.
Thanks for your help.
