macromedia shockwave/flash8 problem

by jbare / December 15, 2005 2:04 AM PST

I am having trouble with downloading shockwave or flash 8. I have a linksys wireless router but the computer is directly connected to it. I have AVG free antivirus running. It downloads and is on the add/remove screen, but it won't work. thanks...

No Clue?

Ok ... So I guess nobody has a clue as to how to fix this. Should I just use the restore CD and dump everything saved or done to this computer for the last three years?

Indeed ! You did not supply any. What is ''won't work'' ? Why do you want the programs ? What do you expect them to do ? How do you expect them to ''work'' ? Please tell more. Give more clues !

jbare, "It downloads and is on the add/remove screen, but it won't work. thanks..."

What exactly do you mean?

FlashPlayer 8 allows you to see Flash objects on websites that use them. As far as the Shockwave Machine it is used to play games which require the Shockwave Machine.

Please explain and maybe someone can help you.

Even the CNET homepage tellsme to install the macromedia flash to view the page correctly, but if I use the download link it still will not change the homepage so it runs correctly.

In reply to: flash problem

can you see the macromedia animation after you install?

if you can see their anmation, then its installed correctly. Next you should also check the security setting (in the flash download page, on right column)

or maybe something you configured in your browser setting... i.e. popup blocker etc.

try it again in cnet homepage, and try to download it again.. see what happened..
