macromedia flash player

for some reason I have lost this. I have tried to install free player fro Macromedia.co ,but it never installs. I have tried all the FAQ. Can anyone help

are you installing from IE by clicking on something that needs Flash? if this is the case then you have your IE security settings to prevent the installation. you need to go into Tools|Internet Options|Security to make changes.

Im having the same problem and i have reset all the security settings and followed the FAQ on the site.

have you contacted Macromedia? the only times when i have seen it not work is when the Internet Explorer security settings are not right. if you are on Windows 2000 or XP, you have to have administrator priviledges to make changes to the settings.

I've emailed them two or three times and i've yet to get a response. It will install on my computer, but when i go to a site it says i dont have it, so its like its there but dosent work, i cant figure it out.

this is classic signs of a security settings problem. if you are not administrator for your machine, the install never works.

i am the admin for my comp., in fact im the only user...the software and what not is installed, i looked in the windows folder and then macromedia folder, but it just dosent work, i cant figure it out.

well, then we are back to your Internet Security settings. they should be at the lowest level. you can also try Netscape and loading a Flash player there to see if that works too.
