(matter of fact almost always helpful) to state the EXACT error message encountered.

Without knowing more it is difficult to say but the following link may be helpful -;en-us;q307545 (or )

If you can boot to Safe Mode (keep pressing the F8 key while booting) you might also try selecting the "Last known good configuration".

If you can boot to the Floppy drive but not to the CD (what I gather from your post) you might need to go into your CMOS setup while booting and change the boot order.

I can only get to the screen which tell me that I'm missing the file. .
"Windows could not start because the following file is missing "\winnt\ststem32\config\system
you can attempt to repair this file by stating windows setrup using orginal setup cd-rom
select "r" at first screen to start repairs."

Problem the cpu does not appear to be reading the cd drive which I have the orginal cd rom in but if ai put an old windows 95 floppy disc in a drive it attempts to read it the give disc error message
