If i'm not mistaken all macs since about 2005 have digital/analog audio out from the headphone jack...
IF you have a toslink cable laying around, connect it to check to be sure....if not u could use something like this -->> http://www.amazon.com/PH62089-Stereo-Mini-Male-RCA-Male-Feet/dp/B0001GAOE0
I current own a PN50A550S1F Plasma, HT-AS720S receiver and the 1500(??) Blueray player.
The digital satellite box and blueray player are connected to the receiver system via their own HDMI cables. The Receiver is then connected to the TV via a HDMI cable.
I recently purchased a macbookpro and wish to download and watch movies on the system.
I realize I require another HDMI adapter for the laptop to connect to the TV. My question is how do I get the sound from the laptop to the receiver and 5.1 system? I called the Samsung 1 800 number and the fellow said I required an optical cable to connect my satellite box to my receiver- but that doesn't make any sense.
Any advice or ideas?
