Macbook Pro question

May 30, 2008 10:27AM PDT

Just had a quick question regarding the Macbook Pro models. I'm looking at the 2.4Ghz and the 2.5Ghz 15" models. I was looking at the Cnet review and noticed the 2.4 scored much lower than the 2.5. Even the 2.2 Macbook scored better in many of the tests. I was just wondering why this was. Thanks

Which CPUs were in those.

I don't track the Pro exact specs as they change often. Look at the CPU in detail such as the L2 Cache. Also scores can be complicated to read as sometimes lower is better (less seconds to do something.)

2.4Ghz Model

It could be that this 2.4Ghz model is of the Santa Rosa class of MacBook Pros. The current models use Penryn class CPUs from Intel. The newer models should be better in performance... That's probably what it is.

Maybe....

I don't think so. I'm getting the tests from the cnet review. The 2.5Ghz model (Top of the line 15in model) is the best for most tests, then the 2.2Ghz Macbook model is second in most, with the 2.4Ghz model coming in either third or fourth.
