you use the headset mic or the built in mic.
Apparently they both work.
Of course, I may have misunderstood
I started working remotely and needed to buy a read headset. Using the apple headset didn't cut it. I purchased a Mpow wired USB headset. Keep in mind that I'm using an old school MacBook Pro. This baby was born early 2011. I didn't use it for about four years and have use is again as of late. (Planning on buying another Mac soon.) AND one of my USB ports doesn't work so I bought a USB hub. I have my wireless mouse and headset plugged in. The mouse works and I can hear music, calls, etc. through the headset. Here comes the problem:
I have the Mpow selected as both input and output (+ use audio port for sound output - maybe this selection is the problem?)
When I have the mic on the headset on, I can see the input level move. When I mute the headset, it doesn't move. That means it works, right? Wrong.
I tried testing this out by sending my boyfriend voice notes. One with the headset mic "on" and the other "off" (muted). Both voice notes sound the same. What gives?
Please help. Thanks in advance!
