Question Mark Folder

That means that the computer's not finding a bootable partition on the disk. I'd do an Apple Hardware Test from the DVD that was included with the MacBook. If it reports no problems, install OS X again, using the Archive and Install option to save existing data. If it does report a problem with the hard drive, it'll probably need to be replaced.

The software on the DVD's shouldn't be mixed if they came separately.

Can you tell us the full titles/descriptions of those "few DVD'S"? Then probably we can tell which one you should use and maybe even how to use it.

Your best bet now

is to take the machine to an Apple Authorised Service Provider.

To replace the missing DVD's you will need to purchase the Operating System again.

An AASP will replace the drive and install the original OS back onto it for you.
