MacBook for 900$, 3 year apple care plan and OS in korean???

Nov 7, 2006 7:30PM PST

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, I am in Korea wright now and I have great chance to buy 13inch MacBook for 900$ , store is clousing and everything needs to be sold!!!

Just wondering how soon do I have to purchase 3 year apple care plan from on line store ( cost here 165$ ) after I buy my MBook?

And one more thing!

The Operation System is going to be in korean If they are unable to install the english OS, will I be able to install and run an older OS ( I can get one from my friend who owns one of those G4 lap tops and has another one which is even older) or do I need to get the new intel optimized version of OS?

You will certainly need the Intel version of the OS, the G4 versions will not work with your new machine.
I just went to check if $900 is a good price for that machine but the Store is closed!

AppleCare must be purchased during the first year of warranty, I'd get it as soon as you can, preferably when you purchase the machine

Why the Store was closed

I note that Apple have just released a new line of MacBooks.
Each has a Core 2 Duo processor and prices start at $1099.
I would seriously consider NOT getting the $900 machine and go for the new, faster machine.
Bear in mind that you will be purchasing a US version of the OS for $125 anyway.

However, you could approach the store that is closing down and negotiate a lower price on the grounds that the machine they are selling is a discontinued product!

Well, it is Core Duo Happy and I own it now!
And I don't need a new OS. The OS hase got english.

Now I need to get apple care!

Tnx all!

No, it's not Seoul COAX.

I'm living in Daejeon it's 40-50 min by train from Seoul. I got my Mac from Carrefore-Homewer, which is a department store, closed now. They did big sale on electronics and other stuff before shutting down the store, so I'm sorry there is no other 900.000 Wonn Mac for you Sad
Great machines those Mac's, I can tell you. If you want to get one, I say get one!
