Mac To PC Server

Feb 19, 2006 6:57AM PST

Hey Guys,
Im running a PC Network with 2 server 2003 servers at a school, running on a domain, one is the DNS and DC and the other is the file server.
I also have a mac from a teacher, its a g3 powerPC running 10.4.2. and i cannot get it configured to the network. I have the DHCP settings matching the dns settings on the PCS. Everytime I connect to for example smb://10.1.1.5 through the connect to server window it asks for a password then always says denied. Even though I can use the exact same password on a pc and connect to the domain and access files fine.

Any Help would be much appreciated.

Is this Active Directory?

If so, is the Mac machine name in the Computer OU?

I found that a small program from Thursby called ADmitMac allows quick and easy access to all things Active Directory.
It installs on the Mac and after following the configuration wizard, you have a connection to the Active Directory.

i have installed the admitmac and i have an issue. The domain is stpauls.nsw.edu.au, but admitmac only has room for stpauls.nsw.edu, is there a way to add a keychain for access to the domain?

Check with Thursby, they are the experts on their piece of software.
They respond very quickly to emails.
