Mac Pro shut down

Yesterday I received a reply to my problem with my Mac Pro shutting down whenever I leave it for more than 15 mins, despite having switched off the energy saver sliders. I followed the instructions that you sent which were to do a PRAM restart then switch off and disconnect the computer pressing the 'on' switch for 5 seconds. I then restarted the computer which only gets as far as the grey screen with the spinning wheel. It eventually gives up and shuts down. I am having to reply to this thread using my wife's old EMac. Can anyone help.
