Question

Mac Performa Software lots of it!!

Apr 28, 2012 4:37AM PDT

I have boxes and boxes of old Mac Performa Software. Can anyone use them? about 50 programs. I'm afraid I'm going to end up throwing them away. Some are CD's some are the floppy disks.

If no one wants them, can I buy a newer Macintosh for them? Can any newer MacIntosh Computer read the stuff? Is the software compatible with a G3 or any other system out there?

The software that you have was written for the PPC processor

which Apple do not use any more.

Almost certainly it was also written for System 9 which was supported for a few years after the move to OS X but support for it has now dropped.

Your software would suit machine with a G3 processor, even a G4, but that machine would have to have System 9 installed and used under the Classic environment.

None of the newer, intel, Macs can read the software.

eBay would be a good choice.
