Mac OS X Camcorder driver for iMovie

Sep 28, 2005 12:27PM PDT

Hi,
I have the Sony Camcorder DCR-PC109E.
I want to capture a movie I filmed with iMovie.
Where can I download a driver for this Camcorder?

Cheers,
Juergen

In order for this to work you MUST connect the camera to the Mac using Firewire/IEEE1394/iLink (It's all the same).
Your camera has the correct interface, according to Sony, but may not have come with a Firewire cable. (They usually don't)
However, every Mac does. You should find a strange cable, somewhere in your possession, that came with the Mac and that you have found absolutely no use for. Up until now, that is. The cable has a regular Firewire connector on one end, check the back of your Mac to see the size and shape, and a tiny connector on the other. You may have to hunt for the socket on the camera, it is usually behind a cover. Do NOT confuse it with the USB socket which is around the same size but has the USB symbol (looks like a cactus) next to it.
The camera will NOT work with the iMovie using the USB port.

I used USB, and the MAC did not recognize the Camcorder.
I try to get a Firewire cable.
Thanx for the tipps

Without the Firewire cable, it is never going to work
