Question

Mac OS X (10.7) and Word 2008 language problem

Nov 11, 2011 8:30AM PST

I use US English and Russian to enter text in Word 2008. After upgrading to Mac OS X v10.7.2, the switch from English to Russian will only hold while I'm typing. If I try to edit the document by clicking anywhere else in it, the keyboard switches back to English. I tried this with Entourage and Russian holds fine. It only happens in Word 2008 (12.3.1). Doesn't matter what language (I hope), it appears to be isolated to Word 2008 and Lion. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Thanks, but, no cigar

Great idea, but when I tried it the same thing happens. Looks more and more like a Microsoft issue in general and Word 2008 in particular! Rats!

same with Word 2011 on Lion

Looks like you are right and this is MS issue. Even Cyrillic fonts don't hold. Although, it is a minor annoyance.

Office 2011?
Nov 13, 2011 11:25PM PST

I don't own Office 2011, but was wondering if anyone has the combination of Lion and Office 2011, and has tried to use another language. Does the problem persist?
