Question

Mac OS Lion 10.7.5 and Firefox

May 5, 2016 11:21AM PDT

I have a MacBook Air OS 10.7.5 (Lion) and I have gotten a few pop-up messages that Firefox will require a later OS. Does that mean I will have to try and upgrade my OS? Will another browser work? Safire does not play well with my Mac which is why I went to Firefox. I definitely want to avoid messing around with my OS. Thank you,

Clarification Request
10.7.5 was the last update to Lion

with the next step being Mountain Lion, 10.8.x which could be had for the princely sum of $19.99
The updates to ML contain a new version of Safari.
However, this is no longer available in the App store but may be via Amazon or eBay.

That said, we do not know the version of MBA that you are using but all of the MBA's from Mid 2009 onwards can support the latest version of OS X , 10.11.x with the earlier ones not giving a particularly good user experience.
The initial release of the MBA, January 2008, only supports up to OS X 10.7.5

There are other browsers.

Many try Opera, Chrome and such but is this up to date say like this link?

10.7.5 did roll out in late 2012 so it held up well in my view. Now there are folk that must stay with what they have for any number of reasons but for a browser? I'd try other browsers and want to hear what's up with Safari.

I didn't know that there even was a Mac OS Lion 10.7.5 update. I will read the article you sent carefully. I had heard that other users, such as me, also had problems with Safari opening certain pages within certain sites.

I'll let you know if this helps or maybe will end up upgrading to Yosemite, I don't know, that scares me.

Thanks again, slambeau Love

Sites that don't open with Safari

Are usually outdated or fading away. All the web masters I know take Safari access seriously.
