But you can't beat PC for variety of computers and software applications. So, we have to live with it. FWIW, I was in the Mac store recently and realized that Vista is a bad copy of Tiger. I would much rather have Leopard than Vista, however, but I cannot force myself to switch until they have more choice in computers (notebooks).

Um... OK.

I presume the 'moral' of the tale is that fanboys of either are irritating little jerks?

(NT) I thought it was too embarrassing to share.

Macs are good for general applications, but if you are a high end gamer... PC is the way to go. PC's are more open to modding. You can build and customize your PC all the way to 100%, Macs? you can but YOU YOURSELF ??! i dont know about that...

macs always have an upper hand in basic multimedia applications, but if you wanna go higher... you cant

for ex. if you want to to upgrade your sound card, you cant.. some minor discrepancies.

If you are a person who just likes to compute and not worry about your computer crashing, Macs are the way to go.

If you are a person who likes to fiddle around, do all kinds of crazy stuff, and taking risks, PCs are da bomb for you.

I personally would like to have both, macbook for homework and internet surfing and pc for gaming, making music, editing photos and everything else.
