It can be done, but it's a violation of the OS X license agreement. More than that, getting support for hardware will likely be difficult, so it's not as great an idea as it seems.

You can easily do things the other way around. Running Windows on a Mac system. Aside from a few issues about the Home versions of Vista having a license that prohibits them from being run in a virtualized environment (AFAIK, it doesn't prohibit dual booting), you're free to run Windows on a Mac so long as it's a legally purchased copy.
