Mac Mail - setting up mailboxes?

Jan 26, 2011 3:31PM PST

I'm trying to set up saved and sent mailboxes, but I can't seem to separate the settings for "to, from, subject, etc."

For instance, on the saved mailbox I'd like to have only "from" and not "to" displayed, but then I can't set up the sent mailbox to have only "to" and not "from" displayed. Is there a way to set up each mailbox with separate qualities? I've tried everything, but everytime I add a quality to one mailbox, it appears on all mailboxes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance

PS: I have a Macbook pro with Snow Leopard

when I look at the In box, I see From & To.

In the Sent box I just see To.

At the top of the columns, right click the column heading and you will see a list of available columns.
Click, or unClick, the ones you need to see.

All the views are separate

Thanks for the response, but actually, all the mailboxes are connected. You can't alter one mailbox setting without affecting all mailboxes. If in SENT mail I want to only have "from" and not "to," this setting automatically affects all boxes. Is there a way to separate each mailbox and make unique settings for each one?

Thanks

Try setting up a new smart mailbox and selecting the columns you want to see.
On my main Mac all the standard mailboxes have the same headings but my smart mailbox has different columns.
Works for me.
