MAC CaC Card Readers

I am using 10.6.6 on a Macbook Air. The Air recognizes the cac card reader but the cac card certificates do not show up in Keychain. I have had the same problem with a Macbook Pro and have used two different cac card readers. The readers work with Windows using the same cac card. Any help would be appreciated.
