Question

mac airport card?

Aug 20, 2011 12:14PM PDT

Hi, I am a newbie to the mac world. I have a mac book now and an IMac g5 desktop model. I am looking to buy a wireless card for the IMac G5 desktop, where should I search and how much should I expect to pay. I can install it myself.

eBay would likely be your best bet if you want something internal. As to whether you can install it... There's a difference between can and should, and usually if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't. If you're comfortable with the possibility of the iMac going up in a big puff of blue smoke, then knock yourself out. If not, probably a better idea to get someone else to do it for you.

Apple considered the replacement/installation of an Airport Extreme card to be something that the average home user could accomplish.
