My OS is XP Home, SP2, All critical updates applied. M$ XP Office installed (M$ Word 2002, 10.2627.2625).
I have transferred Word documents I have previously created with earlier version of M$ Word. In addition I have not only created new documents with this XP version of Word, but have modified documents created with earlier versions of Word [mostly Word 97].
Now, when I open a modified document [but make NO CHANGES to the document] and then want to close it Word asks me if I want to save the changed document. I have NOT CHANGED the document though. It does it every time.
If I open an document created in an earlier version of Word but do NOT make any changes I am NOT asked the question about if I want to save the changes .
Why is this happening and how can I modify the configuration of Word so this doesn't continue?
Thanks,
G.F.K.
