LTO2 Backup Drive

I bought a LTO2 backup tape drive with 200/400gb capacity to backup my server. I have never used a tape drive for backups in the past and I am unsure exactly how to configure Windows to use this beast.

Its a scsi 160 device and the controller is working perfectly. Windows 2003 sees the device in removable storage but it hasn't got a drive letter assigned and my backup software doesn't see it.

Can anyone point me in the way of a resource for setting this up? Or even better can you help me here?
