LPT3 port is showing and no printing

by samirsefali / December 27, 2009 2:21 PM PST

I have an assembled P4 computer with windows xp os. HP Deskjet 640c does not give any print when connected to this computer. But this printer works well with other PCs. When the printer is
installed in the computer, device manager port shows LPT3 instead of LPT1. Also there is yellow exclamation mark on LPT3. If port is changed to LPT1, then also there is resource conflict. Manual address selection of 0378 or 0278(for LPT2)gives motherboard resource conflict.Oterwise, the computer is working fine. Please guide me so that I can use the printer with this computer.
