low resources

after my computer is running a while 4 hours or more, I get a message, that "Resources are extremely low", I have a p3 800mh running win98se, I can remove the message by logging off or restart. any ideas on why, could be helpful.

Either you tend to run (and not close) many programs, with many windows and files open. That takes resources.

Or one of the programs has a resource 'leak', using resources and not giving them back when you close it.

It takes some detective work to find out, I'm afraid. There's no program available, as far as I know, that shows where the resources are being used, they just aren't available.
