lovely vista ultimate problem

Feb 9, 2007 1:40AM PST

There I was, happily playing with my newing bought and installed Vista Ultimate edition, thinking, wow I really like this, it seems so fine looking and pretty stable. And then...

I install Alcohol 120%.

Boooom

1) gets 3/4 through the install, and I get the memory dump blue screen of death.. lovely. Looked like it was trying to install a virtual drive as the 'found new hardware' icon was flashing on the system tray.

2) next thought, reboot. Same screen.

3) oh dear, next thought, safe mode reboot. Same screen.

4) next thought, thank god I did a dual boot, reboot into XP Pro.

any ideas folks?

I really thought that Mr.Gates woulda made sure that they had simple error trapping before releasing a full retail copy.

3.4ghz CPU
1.5gig RAM
XP Pro on dual boot (different HDD totally)
