Question

loud beeping noises coming from speakers during audio/video

Mar 13, 2016 4:00PM PDT

Hello guys, I have recently been getting an annoying beeping sound coming from my laptop speakers. It started where it only happened if I removed my headset (usb port) and played any audio/videos etc. Today my headset does not work when plugged in now and same thing is happening, whenever any sound comes from my laptop the bleeping noises start again. There is 2 different tones of bleeps but they are not in any certain sequence, just random. I have tried disabling all sounds through the sound card settings, updating drivers etc yet no luck. any advice would be appreciated! Thanks, Ryan

My laptop is an - ASUS G751JT-WH71

Answer
Asus has been known to beep on high heat.

The most common is the two tone version. There's not much story here but are you keeping up with the monthly canned air and using a laptop cooling pad?

I don't have a cooling pad, but I'm pretty sure the laptop is not overheating, it stays very cool and the fans are working just fine. Even if I use the laptop in the morning when it is cold it will still bleep.

(NT) Then a call to Asus for what they think it is.
