"how i can continue to build my computer with only the upgrade xp cd?"

The answer is clear here. You'll have to find your CD or find another qualifying CD. I never toss my old CD or COA's since they can be worth 100 bucks in savings allowing me to get the upgrade version.

I Hate Upgrades
by White Wolf 01 / March 12, 2007 3:35 PM PDT

I ran into a similar problem 2 weeks ago. I bought a machine with ME on it a few years back. I kept the ME disc and sold the PC with 98 on it. I went to use the ME disc on a new system so I could upgrade and realized that the CD Key tag was still on the old PC. Microsoft told me there was nothing I could do. I borrowed XP Home from a friend and installed it. I then used the upgrade disk to repartition, format and install the upgrade. The tech from Microsoft told me that any version of windows could be upgraded with the new upgrade I had. I never told them about the Win 3.11 I still have.

This is just one mans opinion and hope it helps

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
