Lost Utilities Applications

Dec 30, 2005 9:49AM PST

I'm not really sure how this happened. Somehow I managed to delete my Utilities under Applications. I need Terminal/Disk Utility/etc. I currently don't have my Tiger disk or original start-up disk, however I can get them if need be.

Is there a way to recover these applications without the disk?

If I have to get the disk can I just install those programs without having to reformat everything?

Thanks for your help guys.

Check the trash can

if it has not been emptied, the Utilities folder might still be there.
It "may" be possible to reinstall just the utilities, I'll check, but you will need the original installation CD

You need to download a copy of a piece of software called Pacifist.
This will enable you to view the insides of the installation packages .pkg and to extract what you need.
The Utilities folder is in the "Contents of Essentials.pkg in the Applications folder.
Highlight the folder and click Install at the top Menu bar.

Should work but you definately need the OS X installation CD/DVD

Let me know how you get on
