Lost right click option to Erase this cd-rw

I have three computers running XP-HE-OEM-SP1 that are my creation. on two i have the option to erase this cd-rw but on the other one the option is no where to be found. it's a pretty simple procedure so that is not the problem. i have searched Google and MS with no luck. I use Nero as my CD burning software on all three so i doubt that is the issue.I have tried restoring back with no luck and also did an sfc /scannow. A repair install just does not seem to be worth the time for such a small problem, I suppose it could be a switch in the registry that has changed but I have no idea where to look. I would appreciate any help, Thanks.

That might have been an InCD feature and not Nero.

for the tip, I do believe there is a connection between IN CD and the option to erase as the IN CD function is not working either, I get the error that this drive is not accessible. back to the drawing board to check that out.

Try this.

If removing and install InCD doesn't cure it, try running SERVICES.MSC, then set the IMAPI SERVICE to disabled. Reboot and try again.

Bob. the IMAPI suggestion did the trick, for some reason (one of my own dumb doings) i had dissabled IMAPI, once enabled it works fine. I remember one of our sayings from years ago when I was in the service and working on computers =Garbage in garbage out=
