Lost Quicklaunch icon on Toolbar

May 17, 2004 5:09AM PDT

Yesterday I had an issue with my touchpad and a couple progs got changed I figure. Fixed my lost Eudora buttons but I cant figure out how to restore the Quicklaunch icon for Desktop.

It used to be on the bottom, to the right of the Start button.

I tried right clicking the Toolbar, Properties, Show Quicklaunch. It doesnt restore the lost Desktop icon.

Right now I have to minimize any running screens, or right click the Taskbar and Show Desktop when I need to see the Desktop.

I hate those extra clicks!

LOL

Can someone help me?

Running Win XP Home, and a Dell inspiron 9100.

Thanks

Jim

OK I followed the instructions until it got to Syetemprofile, but at that point the next folder didnt turn up.

Instead of WINDOWS\System32\Config\Systemprofile\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

I have Systemprofile\ but in this folder I only find Cookies, Desktop, Favorites, Owners Documents, Start Menu, and a file calle NTUSR.dat

No sign of Application Data as in these instructions.

Any idea what to do now?

Thanks

Pick a method.

To recreate the Show Desktop, you just need to find the instructions that make sense to you. Try another article.

As to what folder, some find it easier to put the Show Desktop on the desktop, then drag then drop it into the quicklaunch bar.
