Question

Lost Photos During Transfer

Jul 25, 2019 11:03AM PDT

My wife as transferring photos from her Android Phone to her laptop with USB. She has done this many times before. This time the folder on her laptop that she moved them too is empty and they are gone from her phone also. It's a Windows 10 laptop.

Any ideas. Thank you.

That's a thing that you should never do: moving in stead of copying.

I'd try an Android data recovery tool. Or a Windows data recovery tool that can recover from any drive letter it sees. Usually we start with Recuva from Piriform, because that is free.

Is your wife sure about the folder she copied to? It's easy to make a mistake. Try searching the hard disk of the PC for all .jpg files and see if there are any with the right date.
