lost of GB on C drive - close to max

I am running Business Visa from my Dell Inspiron E1505 - my problem is that I have NOTHING on it but I only have 6 GB left and 62 in use - I have uninstalled almost everything and my available GB never goes back up... I have done virus scans, system restore, disk clean and defrag - I don't know what else to do... any ideas? I can say that like 2 wks ago it told me I had like 12 GB left... and I haven't added anything to my computer - I have taken stuff away since then... please help
