Lost left speaker sound.

I have a 98SE. All of a sudden I've lost sound in my left desktop speaker. I updated ASAPI for wave lab and some other adjustments for volume control etc. Now left speaker won't work. Checked connections, control panel settings and MS says speakers are functioning. Have Creative Sound Blaster64Dand SB Audio PCI 64D. Anyu chance that you muted it

in the creative mixer, or moved the slide all the way to the righ speaker.

If it is a detachable speaker set (could be integrated in the monitor or the computer case also) try it on another computer, and another set on this computer. Just to exclude the possible problem of a defect speaker set.
