Lost IExplorer

Feb 1, 2005 5:29AM PST

I have lost the iexplore.exe file.I am using XP pro on a dell laptop. I booted in safe mode and removed checkmarks on internet explorer and MSN explorer in the 'windows components' window, then replaced checkmarks to reinstall.I still dont get the exe file.
What can I do next?

did you try using your search facility to find the .exe file? if you find it, you can then create a desktop shortcut for it.

or you can stop using IE and use Firefox instead.

All I found using search was a PF file (unknown application) IEXPLORE.EXE-27122324.pf. I am not familiar with this type file. It was in folder windows\prefetch (?). Ofcourse to access firefox I'd have to get to web which is my problem. I'll familiarize myself with firefox. By the way I did run adware and avg to check for viruses, none found.
