Question

Lost files

I recently did a reset to my computer to improve performance. I had two options while doing the reset. One was to "keep my files" and the other was to remove everything. I chose to "keep my files". Upon startup after the reset I found that my documents, music and personal videos were still there but the file with my pictures was empty. What if anything can I do to restore or find them?

This is where backing up your data is important.

Before doing anything like this always make a backup. Have you tried a search of your HDD?

Where was the file for your pictures located

There is a possibility that if you had your photos saved outside of your profile, they got deleted. Check shadow copies/previous version on the drive and see if maybe you can grab them that way.

Re: lost files

Sorry to read. As we say here: "You only lose what you don't backup." So you know what to do in the future to prevent future losses.
