Lost emails from Personal folders

Aug 4, 2004 9:01AM PDT

I have a Dell 512mb ram 40gb hd WinXP prog and Office 2003. All of a sudden in Outlook I got an extra personal folder (exactly a duplicate copy) of emails I had been saving in a named folder. This folder showed up near the top under the section MAIL and Favorite Folders. There was also a duplicate copy down the list in the personal folders section. Both appeared to be exact duplicates. I only wanted one folder. So I goofed around and tried different things to get rid of the extra folder. Now, after a couple of days the extra folder is gone, but so are most of the email messages I had wanted to save.

Does anyone know where they ended up? and is there a way to get them back.

Thanks.

Rogge

Thanks for the quick response. But I go completely braindead when trying to work with Outlook and its files. I was able to download the file and get it installled, but was not smart enoough to figure out how to then recover the files that I was missing. Thanks, though, I know it is a shortcoming on my part in dealing with Outlook.

I shot myself in the virtual foot once with Outlook.

And I think it was the same way too. Somehow I had duplicated my PST in the outlook tree. When I deleted that "extra" entry in the display, it killed off (deleted) all my emails.

I had backup so it was where/how I recovered.
