Lost digital channel, channel was deleted on my Samsung LN52

Feb 18, 2009 11:12AM PST

I have Comcast cable, so I plug the cable directly into the tv. I've had the tv for months now and its been working great. But recently I'll be watching one of the digital local channels like 9-1 and suddenly it will switch to a different channel like 79-1 and the 9-1 will be gone from memory, I'd have to run auto-program to get it back. Is there something wrong with my tv??

I should also note I don't have any patches applied. Should I?

Channels

lyxx0032,

Welcome to the forum.

If the channel goes out of range or becomes weak, an auto-program is the only way to get the channel back.

I don't believe that's anything the firmware fixes, so I wouldn't necessarily upgrade based on that symptom.

Easy way to add the channel back in?
Feb 18, 2009 9:31PM PST

Well it shouldn't be weak, its coming from the cable line to the tv. I've checked the signal strength and it has all the bars. At the min. is there a easy way to add the channel back in without having to perform a complete scan of all the channels?

wander if it is conversion issue
Feb 18, 2009 10:11PM PST

I heard some stations were going to convert anyway.
I have cox cable and just noticed this morning i had
2 9-1 channels. The 1st 1 was blank and the 2nd 1 was
on. Did a autoprogram tuesday night just in case some
did convert. Probably will do it more often. Can't remember
the best time of day to do it. I think i may have lost
some channels to. Probably ones i don't watch much.

lyxx0032,

No, a complete scan is the only way to get those lost channels back.

dspears1,

Happy to be of service, and it's nice to see a partner in the business supporting our products.

Just so it's said, I don't mind the occasional link while you're actively participating in the threads. If this becomes a trend or problem with resellers posting just to promote their sites without being a part of the relevant discussions, I'm going to have to ask C|Net to limit everyone equally. We'll see how this goes for now, and I trust good judgment will prevail.

Thanks for your support and understanding of this friendly reminder in advance.
