Lost Data - Neeed help..

by Oesterposselt / October 1, 2009 1:04 AM PDT

Hi..

I have just got myself a new laptop, and my father was supposed to delete my stuff from my old one, and transfer it into my eksternal harddisk, but when I, a little time later tried to find it, there was nothing there.. And the files has been deleted on the old computer(windows havent been reinstalled, the files have just been deleted)

Anyone know any free program that are really great for recovering these files, and would it be best to look at the harddisk, or the old computer? Can anyone help, were talking pictures, music, and stuff for school...

For your old laptop I can copy what I wrote earlier today to another poster.

"All you can try: one of the programs found by googling for XP UNDELETE. If none of them finds it reliably, it's gone. That's why some people backup the files they don't want to loose in case something happens. Others don't and risk loosing data. Their choice. Your choice also?"

Ask your father to find it for you on your external harddisk. If anyone knows where he put it, it's he?

And, may I ask, from your question it seems you were perfectly capable to do that copy yourself? Why didn't you?

However I have helped others remove the drive from the PC since we can't install new software without fear of overwriting the files then we put it on another PC and try titles like these:

RECUVA
GETDATABACK
ZERO ASSUMPTION RECOVERY.

Remember that if the owner is serious about recovery, so are we.
