Lost Automatic user name and password feature when updating

Jul 11, 2009 1:49AM PDT

I have a Windows XP Professional Service pack 3.

Just recently updated from IE 6 to IE 7.

When I had IE 6, every time I used a website that required a user name and password, the first time I would get the message

"Do you want Windows to remember the user name and password?"

Now, after updating to IE 7, I don't get this message and have to type them in each time.

Anyway I can get this feature while using IE 7 ??

Many Thanks in Advance !!

Have You Checked This?
Jul 11, 2009 4:50AM PDT

Open the Control Panel, then "Internet Options, then the "Content" tab, then the "Settings" button in the "Autocomplete" section. Once there, place a checkmark in all the boxes: "Web Addresses", "Forms", "Usernames and Passwords on "Forms" and "Prompt me to save passwords". (ACtually, only the last two are required for your specific question.) Click on OK, Apply, OK, etc. Close Internet Explorer, then open it again.

Next, you'll need to make sure that your "Internet OPtions/Privacy" tab settings are set to "Medium". Cookies "remember" those passwords from various websites.

Hope this helps.
