can someone help me? I m going to buy a MP3 player but i'm lost with all the informations

one question, can i download documents (word for instance) on a MP3 player, or is it only made for music files ( no photo either?) ??

I want at least 2GB.should I buy, an ipod, a mobiblue, creative??
want to use it with a cassette adapter in the car.

other question , I think I need to buy a usb flash drive too then if I want to be able to download documents. i think 1 Gb would be good, which one would you recommend me?
