Lossless video conversion (another looking for software ques

Hi all,

I am looking for a program to convert some video but I cannot seem to find anything on the net.

I have a number of unencrypted, public domain/uncopyrighted DVDs some of which are in the form of VIDEO_TS folders on my hard drive.

I am looking for some software that will losslessly convert the actual movie (without the menu) into a video file preserving the quality of the original disc and without doing any re-encoding or lossy compression.

I wonder if someone could also advise what would be the best file format to store my archived movies in.

I would prefer a piece of mac software by I can run Windows software if all else fails.

Lossless to the extend of what's on the harddrive;

I probably would copy the file to whatever archive media you preferred as data file. The drawback here is...it can only be use by computers.I am

That can't be true. If that is really true then you better define exactly what you are after for us to understand.

copy your dvd

Well, in my experience, it is really hard to convert your dvd to other formats without re-encoding. U may have to copy your DVD.
And i think Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper(http://www.pavtube.com/blu-ray-ripper/) can help u copy DVD. It can directly copy your DVD bit to bit without quality loss. Then u will get VOB file on your hard drive.
